After my first 4 wheeling excursion with my new lift and tires I discovered the rear end was going to need a bit of trimming. The tires knocked the rear fender flares right off. This is a temporary fix until I can afford aftermarket flares, then I'll probably rhino line the rockers too. Enjoy the Pics!

Where the tires where rubbing:

Hacking Away!

Left a not-so-attractive rough edge:

Cutting the flare on the plastic that mounts to the rear bumper:

Repairing that rough edge with JB Weld type of stuff:

Shaping the JB Weld with dremel tool:

Shaped, Hand Sanded, Ready for Primer and Paint:

And here is the finished result. The green paint I found matched almost perfectly but it wasn't metallic, so I lightly peppered some black paint over the top. I started thinking about wet sanding and buffing the heck out of it to make the finish match perfectly, but then again, it's inside the freakin wheel well so who cares, looks good enough!

you could of just trimmed the lip off the fender flares that wraps around the bottom that way it looks stock but you get about the same amount of clearance you just got bu hacking it up. but in the end they get cut and folded so who cares

In most cases I bet you're right, but, my tire actually had some pretty good slices in it from hitting the metal part that I cut off, I would have just trimmed the plastic off which the tire was damaging, but it was more an issue of the fender damaging the tire!

yeah you could still trimm the metal to i am just talking about removing the lip on the flares so it looks more finished it leaves the out line and removes the folded part that catches the tire

Ok - I think I get what you're saying now. Do you have any pictures of one that's done this way? I wouldn't be opposed to doing a little more trimming to make it look better! Thanks!

No pics sorry I had mine setup like this for a few months but when I went to my 33's I had to remove and cut more. And I just through the fenders away last week. Don't worry about it to much though it looks good anyway since you painted it back up

I'm just going to cut & fold that whole back section any ways that is why I never worried about that bad cut like yours.
