so i twisted my driveshaft in my xj the other day and i cant seem to figure out the length of it...untwisted. im having one custom made and i was wondering if anyone with an 87-95 xj with a 4.0L and 4x4 could measure their driveshaft length for me (from the center of each ujoint)? obviously the closer to my year would be better. i appreciate it!

 

if you want the driveshaft measures of a 87-95 xj i can't help you, mine is a 2001, just wait someone will jump in...

 

we need a little more information, what axle do you have (as pinion lengths are different) and what transmission do you have (the auto is a little bit longer then the manual).

also i think you are wasting your money on the custom driveshaft (especially if you still have the slip yoke on the back of your t-case). you should just get one from a junkyard, private party or ebay. they run for about $40

another way that you could get the measurement, is to pull the slip yoke off the broken driveshaft and put it back in the t-case, slide it on till all the shinny part is covered, and measure from there to the rear end.
