Rear Doors wont open.. help?
I have a 96 Jeep Cherokee Country inline 6 engine, 4wd.
The doors will not open, I have the door panels off and it looks like eveything is working and responding, but still will not open.
I have set it in WD40, and also tried kicking it open with no avail.
Both doors have not opened since I bought the jeep, and I have been trying to fix it for 2 years. I have just now been able to get one of the windows to work.
Any help would be appreciated.

Have you tried pushing on the button very hard and quick repeatedly? That's what I have to do on one of mine. Everything looks like it's working but it doesn't quite move the latch enough. Also try pushing in on the door from outside as you push the button. Whatever you do don't use a pry bar. Lol. It never works and then you're left with some f'ed doors or hood.and fenders. Only know this because two jeeps I bought had this damage. I would never do that myself.

If you can reach your hand up to the latch inside the door. Top left of the latch facing the forward is a short lever that goes up when you push or pull the handle . Push it up with a flat head screw driver or your finger. Door should open right up.
