rear dome light question.

That's what I thought. My original one didn't click so I got one from the junk yard that clicks and seemed to work but it still doesn't do anything at all

i have the same problem,my rear light looks to have a on/off button and it does nothing,no click or nothing but if i open the front doors its on.i need it to work when i open the lift gate when its dark out.im going to take it apart this weekend to see whats up wit this light. so x2 on any ideas.

I use mine for when i have the tailgate open for a long time (tailgating/working on another truck). When u open the hatch and the light comes on you can manually turn the light off so u dont burn your battery. You cant use it to turn the rear light on when the hatch is shut for whatever reason thats just how they made it i guess.

Mine didn't work either when I got it, turns out the switch was rusted completely off. The switch is located on the latch mechanism inside the hatch, couple screws takes it off so you can access it.

Apparently they were optional on the '92 Sport. Found some vacant screw holes, and two wire ends taped to the harness.
