Rear Diferential question
We just got some snow and rain and my 92 cheroke seems to always be spinning only from one rear wheel. those cheroke are not posi track ?
Is there something I can do to improve traction to both wheels ?
Thicker dif oil maybe ???

some have posi, some not, it always help to have good grip tires, if you DD it, you can use AT radials or some not so aggressive MT, an other way to grip on snow/ice is using chains on your rear tires..

Not on snow and ice.....
If you don't have some experience with the way a locker handles and even more experience with driving on snow packed roads you will get yourself into big problems in a hurry....
No thicker diff fluid will not improve traction....
A good set of tires will work wonders for it...
Posi lock is just the GM brand name for a limited slip rear end. Jeep's brand is Trac-loc. And yes you could get a unit from the dealer. But lots of times people remove them to get a regular locker for their rear end.

Like others have said, some grippy tires are the absolute best thing you can do without spending a ton of dough. if it's just a winter rig, or even if it's your DD, get some retreads (treadwrights are pretty awesome, I'm getting some.)

You could always weld it for free and make it a spool. Only time you'll have one wheel spinning is when you brake a shaft. On a serious note don't do this to a DD that sees ice and snow. If you're on a budget and want both wheels spinning and safe to drive I recomend a Aussie locker.
