Default Rear defrost

Only half of the lines on my rear defrost work. Any ideas what the problem may be? Do I have to replace it? If so is it hard to do? I'd like to get this fixed as it is going in to have the windows tinted after christmas, and I assume that after that to fix it will be more spendy as that tint will have to be replaced as well...

They sell a kit that will let you fix the traces that are broken. The hardest part will be trying to find the break. You may want to use a DVM or a continuity tester...Tj

Sounds like you have a break in your grid. You'll have to inspect each line on the window (where it's not working) and see if any of the lines look distorted in any way. If so, you can pick up a grid repair kit from any napa type store. It's basically just conductive paint, apply it over your bad spot, and that's about it, connection fixed. Best done with glass at room temperature. Be sure to check the vertical lines on each side for breaks too.

**oops little late, hahaha.**
