Rear Bumper-Cap Issue.
hey everybody,
I am removing my left rear bumpercap because it recently got damaged.
When I remove it there is a metal "holder?" left on the body of the XJ. I was wondering if there is anyway to remove that so the body is flush and it looks normal.
thanks, c

Were they the same body style/year range as yours, or were they 96 and older? The older ones use smaller end caps and don't use/require the holder, so they don't have any holes to fill. I got rid of my rivet holes by cutting and folding the rear quarters to the body line.. but that was rust related lol.

i removed mine as well. i first sanded the light rust i had on it. i took some rtv silicone and filled the holes in for now. then i got some satin paint and painted that section. my truck is black so it hides the holes really well. this summer i will smooth them out and body fill them.
