Rear axle question
Hi guys,
I've got a 97 Cherokee Country...automatic, 4.0. Previous owner removed the build sheet and I'm trying to identify the rear axle....it's got some fluid around the plug so I thought I'd better pop the plug and top it off w/fluid.
It has a rubber plug in it, if that helps.
I did a search and still came up dumb.
Thanks for any input.

Thank you....very helpful....
It's a Dana 35.
How do I tell if it's a limited-slip? The tag thats supposed to be on the axle tube is gone.
Sorry for the ignorance.....
Thanks again....

Nah, only bad question is the one unasked, right? It is an open diff, too. The open diff is pretty much the word thing ever, on or off road. Probably your best bet http://www.powertrax.com/noslip.html
You'll hear controversy over the 35, but it's all in how ya wheel it. You can break anything if you try hard enough.
