It sqeals so damn loud in the early morning. I bet my neighbor is getting ready to shoot me.

How can I fix this? Do I just squirt some belt dresssing on it?

Tighten belt.if that don't help put a new belt.if you do all that and it still does it then you have what I had. Something out of line.I ended up shimming PS bracket out
Still gives a little squelch when first starting sometimes but I deal with it because it only last a few sec

Just tighten it up. If still squealing then might be a pulley going bad but those easy fix

X3 on adjusting belt tension. Also check the condition of the belt, is it cracked up, glazed, or just overall old and worn? That can also lead to squealing.

Btw all the belt Dressing I've ever seen is for v-belts, not serpintine belts, and if used on serpentine belts it can ruin them. Always read the directions and use applications.

The XJ I drive at work has a really bad belt squeal, even with the belt being as tight as a bow string. The noise goes away once it warms up, but I still have not pin pointed the problem yet.

The squeal lasts approx 30 seconds but it sounds like a cat being tortured. Really embarrassing.
