Default Read end roaring

I was wondering if there was a common problem with 97 cherokee rear end roaring issue with the years so rounding 1997? I have a stock dNa 35 rear end and it has started to roar with no. I rations at all speeds. It sounds louder when I'm accelerating. Does anyone know what this might be. Carrier bearings, ring and pinions or gears? This is just a daily driver if that helps. Thanks!

Wheel bearing, but if it's high pitched its probably pinion bearing

Nope, but tends to happen in 1984-2001 XJs that haven't had proper maintenance. There's oil in the axle and grease in the U joints right?

It's a low sounding roar. The fluid levels is fine. Fluid was changed about 50,000 miles ago.

And it has started to roar with no vibrations at all speeds.

It needs to be checked every oil change, or sooner if you see any kinds of leaks at all.

I change mine every 3 mo. because I'm off road a lot and in water, besides gear lube is cheap.

If there is a major problem with that D35 trash it and find a used Chy 8.25 with the same gear (most likely a 3.55) and swap it out. The D35 is a weak differential with the Chy 8.25 being a good upgrade for you and a direct bolt-in to boot.

I had the same problem with mine. I am in the middle of swapping the Dana 35c out for a 8.25. Bigger and better. Mine had an issue with a pinion output bearing and bad seal. Gear oil was thin like melted butter. The only thing is, mine is a 1999. It came with ABS brakes, the 8.25 doesn't accommodate ABS. Honestly not, worried about the ABS. Good Luck.

My bet is pinion bearings or carrier bearings. Have seen both of those.
