Got the same problem only when I am stopped. Every time I get out it goes away. Now I have some ideas of what to look for.

Yea. That does make sense. But when im out of it, it looks like it wouldnt touch it. But i have never heard it while just in park its only when im in gear, then when i put it in park it goes away. But i never thought about looking at the exhaust hanger thats right there. And man am i glad that im not the only one hearing this noise. Must be a jeep defect. haha....Well i will check that next.

Any info would help out. Thanks.
I had the same thing happening with mine a few years ago. I kind of rattled and sped up with throttle, but only then. A friend of mine who is a mechanic said it was the flex plate bolts. I thought he was nuts, it had about 100k on it and I thought that if that was going to happen it would have done it long before this. But, sure enough, they were loose. The end

Youre totally right.... I have an all 4wd... I put the 4w in neutral (basicly what u did...and the noise stopped)...so obviously theres a problem with the 4w but the noise stopped

Alternatively, when you hear it and you're sitting inside the vehicle, try grabbing your 4WD selector handle and wiggling it around a bit to see if it stops the noise, too.
