keep us posted on your text tank of gas, if continues and u have a camera take a video.. might help us pinpoint the sound..

 

I would try the camera trick but the engine is quiet while sitting idle. I only hear the noise while in driving. It was much quieter tonight on the way home. Still a slight ping but I had to really listen for it.

 

must have been just some bad gas. I ran the old tank out and filled it with Shell mid grade and the noise is gone. Its quiet again up hills under load.

 

well glad to here that the problem went away for now.. the better gas can just be posponing the actual problem(s). Knock on wood... keep an eye and ear open to see if anything changes.. i dont know y but i feel that your cat conv might be going bad... have you replaced the factory one in the past? I say this becuase the different gas "bad gas" is burning differently than normal.. Ok this is the point where i need to learn about termenalogies. and how to properly explain things.. but thats just a feeling..
