I have recently been rebuilding the front of my Cherokee and discovered an electrical plug behind the bumper not hooked to anything. I'm not sure what it is for or even goes to. Then I was also wondering about the blank spot in between the defrost switch and the cigarette lighter on the center dash console. I was wondering if there was some factory switch or something you could get for fog lights for that blank spot. I drive a 97' cherokee.

The plug your talking about is most likely the outdoor temperature sensor for the factory overhead console. As for the blank spot your correct, it is for fog lights, My jeep didn't come with factory fog lights and i put them in afterwards with the factory switch, goes right into that spot.

if your jeep didnt come with the "everything" option then your going to find lots of extra plugs that could go places but dont.
Makes it easier when you start upgrading though, just plug it in and keep going.
My jeep is as basic as they came, but everything from the power mirrors to center switches and gauge clusters just plug right in and is almost no work.

okay thanks, i found a factory fog light switch for a wrangler that looked just like the switches in my cherokee, would that work than for the fog lights?
Mine is the same way. When I installed my rear speakers, I noticed the tubing is in the rear hatch for rear wiper washer fluid. I thought that was funny. Lots of other unused plugs under the dash.
