Random hump between sun visors on headliner?

Random hump between sun visors on headliner?
I took my headliner off today to have it professionally redone and in the process of doing so I removed a plastic 'dome' like thing that sits between both of the front sun visors.
When I took it off there was a circuit board inside of it with a plug going into it and wires that lead down the A-Pillar into the dash. What on earth is this circuit board and wiring for? Off the top of my head the only thing I could think of was maybe a sensor for the keyless entry but I wasn't sure. What is this?
This is my first Cherokee ever so I wasn't sure what it was.
NOTE: My Cherokee does NOT have an over head console (unless you want to sell me one!).
