just what ever you were running before , I use Mobil 1 10w-30 synthetic.

(before I fixed my oil leak, I was using Valvoline 10w-40)

4.0L in line six cyl.

hope this helps!!!!

Just so's everyone knows,

one can empty an engine oil pan of oil and run the motor between 2500-4000rpm for a period of approx 20 miles before the bearings (crank/cam) will finally seize up, due to no further replenishment of the lubricant.

I have seen cars go further. funny, I saw some jackasses two months ago in some rice burning P.O.S. going down interstate 85 towards Atlanta (actually outside Raleigh-Durham.) and they were thugs in this car and just smoke everywhere going 90+ MPH, I followed for about 30 miles (safe back from the fumes they were emitting),.. weirdest part was no cops ever saw this or even were travelling on the northbound side, I mean this car was puttin out oil smoke like you would not believe, no idea before they passed me as to how long they had been drivin like that.

finally after 30 miles I saw the car just stop! dangerous as hell as other traffic was trying to stay clear of these freakin morons.

so, to be honest and having some experience with a blown engine as well (thats another story), your due diligence in only going a mile and probably at normal revs, did no damage at all to your jeep sir.
