Happened today, everything works besides that and it's irritating driving to silence

I need a bit more information.

Stock radio? Any fancy Premium sound system? Amplifier?

If it's just a plain jane stock radio with no amplification then the HU is trash.

If it's an amplified system then your amp isn't getting power.

It's just stock nothing new in it. Bought it a few weeks ago. and it is Limited if that makes a difference.

Does it have tweeters on the door panels?

Also, Cherokees are notorious for having the speaker wires break, in the rubber boot between the body and door. Would be unusual for both to break at the same time, BUT...

all 4 at the same time.

OP, does it say Infinity on your door panels on the speaker grille?

Dumb question, but what is a tweeter? I'm not that knowledgeable with vehicles.

No it does not have the Infinity system

Just to be sure check under the back seat for an amplifier. If you have no amplifier then I'd say that your headunit has crapped out. Time for a new one.

If you do have an amp, check to see that the fuse is intact. There should be one on the amp. (I think)

Either a fuse blew or the head unit is not working.

Tweeter -

Didn't see an amp, so it has to be the HU.
Just to be clear, a receiver is pretty much an HU right?
