I just bought a brand new 2016 Jeep Cherokee and it has poor radio reception. I took it back to the dealer and they said there was nothing wrong it. Can i just replace the antenna? I hoping for an easy fit that dealer couldn't be bothered with.

Could this be the same problem with brand new 2016?

I am not able to check this myself, should i take it to a business who installs stereos? The dealer said there was nothing wrong.

This thread is two years old. You probably aren't going to get a photo.

I too recently purchased a 1996 Jeep Cherokee and was having the same problems after putting in a new radio. No reception from either the old or new radio. After looking at this forum and finding this topic I checked the cable behind the passenger kick panel and it was indeed disconnected. I removed the spring, reconnected the cable, and added the small hose clamp to it. Works great and now I have reception. Thanks for the tips.
