Radio Problems
I think my radio is going bad. It started happening a couple of days ago. The radio is having difficulty, the static comes and goes and it's really annoying. I don't think it's a bad fuse because the radio wouldn't be working at all. Perhaps it's a loose/faulty wire or a bad connection to the antenna? Any help would be appreciated, thanks very much.
Yes, check both antenna connections. Obviously, the one behind the radio but also the one behind the passenger-side kick panel. They've been known to work their way loose.
It would help if we knew what year.

It's a 1993 Cherokee Country. I'm guessing I'll have to remove the instrument cluster bezel to get to the back of the radio and get to the radio antenna? How do I get behind the passenger side kick panel and what will I be looking for exactly?

I doubt it's a loose wire behind the radio. I think it's a bad connection from the fm radio to the antenna. But how do I check the connection to the antenna? Can I unscrew the antenna or do I check the wire underneath the passenger side panel? Will I have to take out the glove box and passenger side panel/dash to get to it? Perhaps it's either the radio or the antenna that's just need replacement?

There's a simple push-in coupler behind the passenger side kick panel. To get to it you need to remove that kick panel with a Philips screwdriver. Should only be two or three screws.
