Default radio not working anymore

Ok let me start by saying my biggest weakness is probably electrical.. so dumb stuff down for me. lol. This morning i was on my way to the car wash and i noticed my radio wasn't coming on. the clock was working but it was stuck on something like AM 540. i turned the ignition off, waited a few, and turned it back on, nothing. When i got home, i checked the fuse, it was fine. I pulled the plastic off the dash and pull the radio out to see if anything had maybe come unplugged and it all looked good. is the radio just in need of being replaced? thanks in advance yall..

there is a black wire with silver male and female ends behind your passenger kick panel. I had mine come unplugged down there! Try that and let me know!

He is correct It's the antenna coax lead connector. One lead coming from the antenna, that is connected to the lead going into the dash to the radio.
Just figure a way to keep it plugged together. I put a drop of solder on mine to make dam sure it stays plugged together. !

I can be off base, but I had this exact same thing happen, then finally would stop I did all the same you did and ended up having a bad ground wire, I had to run an entirely new ground wire into the engine bay.

Do you mean the ground wire that grounds the radio chassis ? I had to put a new lug on mine.
Fixing the antenna lead should be easy enough. Even duct tape would keep the connectors together.

Its possible if those do not fix it try removing the battery cables for a few minutes and see it that clears the radios memory and it starts working.

Not knowing anything about the radio stock/aftermarket its a place to start. Radios are sometimes installed by people who should not be installing anything. JMHO & YMMV

Mine would receive only one station, just like others here mentioned a while back, when the antenna connector fell apart.
My radio worked fine after the coax fix, but I swapped it out for a Pioneer w/CD player.....
