Exclamation radio issue

hey guy new to the jeep world. i picked up a 98 cherokee with 5speed for 500.00 it needed a few things that are all fixed but one. The radio everything is in good shape but the black ground wire (im assuming its the ground). It looks as if the previous owner had hacked into that wire and i have no clue why he had everything pulled apart and his old radio out before i picked up the jeep. so anyways let me get to the point i ended up touching the black wire to the radio (lol got power then) and sounded lik ei blew a fuse so i looked around at ALL fuses and everything seem good but in the process i touching this wire to the radio i have lost my turn signals. thanks for the help.. also before i tounched the black wire to the radio i wouldnt power up even if i ground the black wire to the chassis, but i had 11.85 on the mem wire ign off, and 11.85 on the power with ing on.

Welcome to the forum! He probably had an aftermarket head unit he kept is my guess. Try tracking down the wiring and see if there is an in-line fuse. Also, whenever doing electrical work, do yourself a favor and disconnect the battery...pops and sparks can do a whole lotta damage
