Radio Harness
1994 xj sport, somebody jacked my radio, i have a bunch of wires hanging out of an empty pocket in my dash. It had a sony head unit that the p/o had installed-hardwired i guess, there were no factory plugs. Where do i find what wire is what and what i need to do as far as wiring up a new head-unit. I am no electrical/wiring genius by any means, i prefer to stay away as much as possible, would i be safe just buying the wiring kit from bestbuy?? I check all the junk yards, but all the cherokees already have the radio's cut/hacked out. Any help would be welcomed, even sarcasm at this point!!!

Try going to the knowledge base at Morris 4x4 center to get the wiring diagram.
http://www.jeep4x4center.com/knowled...ex.htm#service
This will let you know what wire is what. Then dig out your volt-ohm meter.
You should be able to verify the speaker wiring by checking the resistance and getting something between 4 and 16 ohms. The speaker may also make some noise.
To check the ground connection measure the resistance to the body of the car.
To check the power turn on the ignition and use the volt setting to find the 12V. Then turn on the parking lights to find the dash lighting wire.
This should get most of the wires hanging out of the dash identified and cross checked against the wiring diagram.
Hope this help and sorry you were ripped off.
