Radio bleeping
Hi, I'm new to the forum and new to owning a Jeep. Please be kind as I'm not particularly technically minded when it comes to cars.
I have a 1998 2.5 Jeep Cherokee, factory standard, nothing changed, with the factory standard radio/tape player.
My radio has started bleeping at odd times. bleep bleep, then a gap then bleep bleep.
Also the back light to the display on the radio is no longer on.
Any thoughts would be great.
I have another question but will post that seperately.

Try checking your antenna. Since the backlighting is out, your radio may be at death's door. This could be a fine time to consider a radio upgrade. Welcome to the forum

Now you mention it the Antenna has got stuck a couple of times, I thought it was just the cold but could be more. A CD player in it would be brilliant so maybe my Christmas Pressie from my other half.
Other than that and the poor idle its a great car and am loving driving it. It tows brilliantly, I needed something to tow a horse trailer and its the best thing we've ever towed with.
Fingers crossed I won't have any more problems with it.

If you decide on the stereo, I recommend going to www.crutchfield.com on most receiver orders you will get a free wiring harness, mounting brackets, vehicle specific instructions and top notch customer support when you run into problems. Some people knock the price of there head units, but when you factor in the harness and brackets, its worth it, especially if you like to do the work yourself. Good luck and let us know what you find out.
