Default Radiator leaking.

This is on the plastic tank on the passenger side 3/4 if the way up. Seems to be coming from in between the plastic an the crimped metal where the two meet.
Is this repairable or should I find a new (used) radiator. This is on a 2000 with 138k on it. No history of leaking any liquids till tonight.

Yes it's repairable, but by the time you take it out, taker it to a radiator shop, they rape you, and you put it back in, you will have spent more than a new aftermarket from 1800radiator. My advice when it comes to the cooling system, buy new. You could fix one side and next week the other side goes. Get a new one and be done with it.

In my opinion it's the cheapest place to get an aftermarket radiator. I've dealt with them in the past for other projects and I will be going back to them when I need one for my heep. Check them out, you won't be disappointed.

I'll have to. And I thought I got all the junk outta my heater core/cooling system 2 months ago... riiiiight. Exploring this problem showed the nasty gunk is back.

x2 on just buying new. The factory radiator is aluminum and plastic and repairing them is not worth the time and money spent. You can also look at your parts store of choice and get one through there. I went with a 3 core copper aftermarket from O'Rielly's auto parts store and love it. Also shop around and see what you can find for prices before you buy that way you can get the best deal.

While you have the rad out, flush the block and heater core with CLR. It does wonders. Let the clr soak in there for about 30 mins then flush like crazy. The block needs to be flushed as well due to the fact that's where a lot of the gunk hides until the t-stat opens up.

CLR is what people use to clean the bathroom, tub toilet and other things with. It's great for getting gunk out of cooling systems. You can get it wally-world or any grocery store. it's in the cleaner aisle
