radiator help
Ive got a '91 XJ laredeo with the origanal radiator and was wondering if a tiny tiny leak would cause the radiator not to work/cool properly. The leak is near the peacock drain. Ive got a high flow water pump(flow kooler) and replaced the thermostat a few years ago. Also dual electric fans. Ive had this setup for some time now and its always ran cool. It just started getting really hot since the weather has warmed up. When its cool out side, the temp never goes above 170. But when it gets above 85 or so, my jeeps temp gauge will climb all the way to the red line. I then shut it off always.
When I change the oil, theres no coolant in it. Is it just time for a new radiator? Any suggestions on what brand or type?
Thanks...

That tiny leak means you are losing coolant, and there is more air in the system. That will cause you to get hotter than you are used to.

x2 you will also be running at a lower pressure risking boiling the water rad is not a hard fix not worth running it when leaking it can suddenly go at any time
