I did my water pump, I only took out the elec. fan, sand my t-stat housing, and got it done in like 20mins. When I do my radiator, ill just take out the elec. Fan, and do it.

well, i wish this would have been done eariler. this would of saved alot of cursing and time. lol. my fiances brother rad. was toast, the aluminum was nasty green and rotted. the d.a didnt want to wait till i could finish fixing on the tranny line. needless to say, he burned out the tranny and now a 4500 rig is scrapped, and my 90 cherokee still runs

In the first post he said he had a clutch line replaced so I read it as he had a manual transmission but I'll agree, not to bad of a job! Coach.

You're right it's a manual, from what I read it makes no difference the red is the same, more or less.

Replacement radiator is the same regardless of transmission. Having a manual trans just makes the job easier...no trans cooling lines on a manual trans (so obviously no need for the disconnect tool you asked about). Just connect the upper and lower coolant hoses and you're good to go.

Yep that was my point, no need to worry about the tranny lines cause they don't exist. Makes an easy job even easier!! Coach

As everybody else has stated , its a pretty easy job. I just did mine 2 weeks ago and the only problem I ran into was those stupid top rubber mounting pieces. Even my trans line disconnected by hand, I got lucky. Also if you have it out, go ahead and replace the water pump while youre at it, assuming it hasnt been replaced recently.

Just a sincere thank you to everyone for their advice particularly Highroller, I got the rad out last night (in the pouring rain) in under 15 minutes, the new one has just arrived from the courier and I'm now confident I'll get it back in around the same time.

As I said it was throwing down yet I came in from doing the job wet, cold but with a smile on my face ! I can see now why this "Jeep thing" is so addictive !

It's the work and blood we put into our jeeps that make them a part of us and more than just another vehicle to drive Now you're going to be searching for more projects and mods to tackle on it

Ain't that the truth! I just did the fuel injector swap to my '99 this weekend. Was amazed that I was able to accomplish it all in less than 90 minutes!
