My daughters 1999 Jeep Cherokee Classic has developed a coolant leak at the radiator seams. It has the 4.0L engine. I have been looking at various auto part web sights that say exact fit yet you read reviews and they all seam to need various modifications. Also is the OEM spec single or double core?Any suggestions as to which radiator or supplier is the best fit. Thank you for any replies.

I picked up one from Auto Zone about 5 years ago and never had a problem and it fit perfectly. The best part is if I do I just pull it and take it back and get a new one and don't have to wait as if was ordered. Also it only runs about $100.

Like Robert said, go get one in one of the many part stores you guys have (always jealous about this) with some decent warranty. The price depends on how much you want to spend (aluminium versus copper core, plastic vs metal tanks, sinlge vs double or even triple row).
I think the stocks were aluminium, can't say single or double row for sure. Never seen a stock still in an XJ in the last several years...

I agree with RTorrez and Roler....if it's a daily driver, then a stock style OEM (with plastic) will work just fine. Look at how long the OEM radiators lasted in the XJ. Mine lasted 13 years and 145k!
Sure there are better options available if you work your XJ harder and want to spend the money. But most of these OEM style radiators in the $100-$150 range will work just fine for a daily driver, and most will install without any fitment issues.

Like RTorrez1, we installed the Spectra Premium OE style rad from AutoZone 3+ years ago......perfect drop-in fit with a lifetime warranty. $110.
