Default Quick vacuum question

So I have been on here researching what appears to be a common problem (no air from main vents).....

Anyway my question, IF there was a vacuum issue at the reservoir would it affect cruise control? I ask because cruise works well. I've been checking vacuum lines but left off last night at the res. It'll be coming off in the next day or two, and re-located as I am installing an after market bumper.

Anyhoo, just got me to thinking that if issue lied therein it would affect cruise as well? Or am I off base here?

Thanks

Also FWIW I have a vacuum schem but it only covers HVAC vac and frankly haven't run down the lines to see where it all goes for cruise. Sitting at my desk now and stewing on the issue since I can't be playing with it

1996 Cherokee BTW

Main vacuum line runs to cruise then
continues to vacuum ball behind bumper. Which stores vacuum. Does air come out defrost at any speed.

Sorry...the vaccum line that runs the defroster control is exactly the same line that runs the cruise control...trace the line back from the tank under the fender...it tees off to the cruise control runs back along side the fender makes a rt turn at the firewall...then to that tee in the picture above my post sends it to the defroster control....continues along the firewall to the drivers side where it runs into the intake manifold thru another little check valve like the one in the picture...those check valves sometimes get blocked with crud

Hmmm interesting. So although I had (I thought) checked that area well for leaks I ran out just now to pull that and check vacuum. When I pulled the line off it broke right at the firewall. So... found the leak .

I rummaged up a bit of shrink tubing and was barely able to slip a bit over what little was exposed at the firewall and over and over the other end. Touch of elec tape and wallah. Air at the vents. Only temporary but at least I have it tracked down so thanks!!

Now for tranny mount and everything thereafter will be all fun stuff. (Least for now)

ya I see that now after taking a better look. Appears my leak was past that though so wasn't interferring with CC?

I've been jeep less for the last few years. Parted ways with my 95xj shortly after meeting my wife and just picked up the new toy (96) a couple weeks ago. Kinda having to re-learn / remember things again

Quick easy fix you can cut the line then slide a piece of heat shrink over it. Push the two hoses together then heat the heat shrink up to seal it. It works great.

I confess I didn't read all. On my 90, the large line from the intake has a "Y" at the ball, and the ball has check-valves for each, END. It's divided in the middle, one half the ball for the heat/AC, the other for cruse. Each end then has a small line back to to the work. Might be the newer than my 90's (and my 84), have the check valve, (s?) in the line. Yes, the ball can be anywhere you like.

CCKen has some good stuff to search there.
