Question Quick tire question.

Okay, so I have been working a while to get some new tires for my first car. (98 XJ lol) So I wanted to know how good this buy would be: 235/75R15 Goodyear A/T Truck tires. I am in desperate need of tires for the winter that is coming up. I would like to know if anyone knows how they hold up against snow, and mud and stuff like that. Also what is the biggest size tire that I can fit on my XJ without lifting it? Thanks!

All terrains are just that...all terrains. They are the jack of all trades so to speak. If you plan on doing serious mudding then you might want to consider M&S tires. But as far as your average off-roading Goodyear AT's will be perfect. And most all terrains work fine in snow. I live in Wa state and am in the mountains 70% of the winter, backpacking, off roading, and skiing and Ive never had a problem with AT's and 4x4 combined in the snow. At's have gotten me through the toughest winter ever recorded in Spokane, Wa.

Very thorough answer. I really appreciate your input. I will go ahead and order those tires next week when I get my next pay-check. Thanks a lot!

No problem man. Also, I know a lot of people rag on re treaded tires b/c they arent mainstream but I spent a lot of time recently reading research on re treaded tires and the consensus is that they are just as safe and perform just as well as new tires but for a fraction of the cost so you might look into re treads as well. I'm running some re-treaded 31s and havent had a problem with them on or off road.

Well, now you've got me thinking! Maybe I will do the retreads, because my speakers aren't the greatest and I'd love to replace them very soon! Thanks again!
