Default A quick question for the masters of the Cherokee!

Ok, I have a bit of an urgent question here. I have my 2000 Jeep Cherokee Sport (see my profile), it has stock lift. I am currently running BFG All Terrain T/A KO 235/75/15. I have an opportunity right now, to pick up the following...

Nokian Vatiiva MT - LT31x10.5R15 - Weight 40lb, Diameter 30.5, Overall width 10.5, Tread depth 20
Core Racing Explorer Rims - 15x8, 5 on 114.3mm, Offset -19, Silver.

The guy has a stock 1996 Jeep Cherokee Sport shown below...

He purchased these tires brand new a couple months ago for $1600.00 total, he has the receipts. The tires have around 2000km on them, he now needs to sell them. So I can purchase them for $600.00, and they litterally look brand new.

So...Will they fit my rig?? With no offroading??? Or will a terraflex budget lift allow me to use them??

Please help, I have 3 hours to decide.

They may fit but rub turn to turn lock and any flexing. Get a 2 inch BB and then put them on...Tj

That's for the tires and rims?
Go for it if yes.
You can always do a little modding to fit em on.

Yep, the price is for the tires and rims. He bought them as a package a few months back.

I heard that the 1996 and older cherokees had a slightly larger wheel opening than the newer models, so I was concerned. But if you guys say they will fit, I'm gonna buy them.

Could I put them on for on-road use exclusively without doing a lift right now??

Or is the 2 inch lift mandatory for street use as well??

I would love to just pick them up and bolt them on right now. :P

The Worst that could happen is the tires will tear up the fender flairs a bit...Tj

Hrmphhh...Well that doesn't sound very good. I like my fender flares the way they are.

I'm gonna buy them and see what happens.

- Pics to come.

I'd get them..

Worst case if they don't fit and rub really bad you can put em in the garage until you get a 2 inch bb then put them on. Just my 2 cents

Or the metal fenders will tear up the tires a bit.
I would definitely do a slight lift (2") before running with these, even on pavement only. But I have an 01.

Mine rubbed with 4 1/2 inch lift and 31/11.5/15's on 12x15 rims so I needed to do some cutting or couldn't drive it anywhere...Tj

Ok, I picked them up. But man, they are much larger than my old tires. Probably about a good 2 inches taller and a good inch wider. No doubt about it, I am going to need a couple inches of lift for sure.

I fit 31's and no lift fine. at full flex the back would just touch the flare. This was on stock wheels though.,

I'm going to try bolting them on tomorrow, if they fit, I will do a river dance of joy.

If they don't fit...I'll curse a little, then start planning my lift.

Why do you do that?
