quick question about ford 8.8

quick question about ford 8.8
im looking to swap my dana 35 with the ford 8.8 from an explorer, and i want to make sure that the only rear end used in those was in fact the 8.8. i dont want to go buy one and then it end up being the wrond thing. can anyone varify this for me? and are there any ways i can tell for sure its an 8.8?

V6 or V8 all are the same 8.8 in explorers........ JY will ask ya V6 or V8 more than likely.
They are the same, all 31 splines. I paid $100 less for my last 8.8 4.10 LSD "v6 rearend" than what they wanted for one out of a V8... JY guy said he had a pile of the 6cyl rears but the V8 8.8 were very rare....i laughed all the way home
Get 97 up and it will have disc brakes and you can use the explorer Park brake cables also.

i got told if i do the swap to spin the wheel if they both move in the same direction its limited slip if the move opposite direction or something like that.
