I have a leak on my left side as well. Mine appears to be coming from the oil filter. I double checked to make sure the old seal came off when I replaced the filter, but it still leaks a little. You sure the old seal came off?

It was worth a shot! I have to go pick up some new connectors for my gauges, I may just be getting some new o-rings as well.

The knocking/rattling sound in the oil pan area probably needs to be checked out first.

Similar story here. I am assuming it is coming from the filter because there is oil on the filter, starter, ect. But I routinely check the dipstick and never have to add any oil between oil changes.

4 quarts came out of where? The dipstick tube hole? Did you change the oil & filter after the head gasket? Is it knocking because it's running on coolant?

Last time there was a rattling in my oil pan, jeep wouldn't start, no oil pressure, was because my distributor was shot.

that much oil came out when i changed the oil for the second time in 2 days. i changed oil after head gasket as well as the coolant then again because i figured id have to drop oil pan. i cant post pic now besides you cant see where it is leaking. when it idles u cant see no leaks but you drive for 5 min stop pop the hood and its everywhere but no longer leaking seems to only leak while driving. i have a new distributor as well as rotor inside. idk i may just buy a new motor

Just get an 02 sensor and screw a new Jeep onto it. That'l fix it! Check the vent tubes on the valve cover? The forward needs to be clear, preferably in the air box, and the little rear tube needs to be sucking. Blow-by or any pressure in the crankcase will make it leak, especially gassing it.
