Question Quick brake question......

Hey guys, first post here, been reading all the different XJ forums. And finally decided to post up here. My first question is hopefully an easy one for you gentlemen/women..been working on my front disc brakes. Finally found the never ending air in the system problem as intermittent freezing rear mount calipers. Still don't quite understand that. So when i changed the pads i notice 3 pads alike and one different. Now the pad in question fits fine, but has much more pad surface and a bigger arch where it mounts on rotor. Take em back to parts house and all brands they carry are like that. And this is a first for them(of course!). No one has noticed this before and no idea as to why and or where this special pad gets placed. Any ideas guys? TIA

I ahve always gone with Duralast Gold brake pads at AZ. There are priced pretty decent, they last really good and they don't SQUEEK like every other brake pad I've ever tried on my XJ.

You should have 2 sets of 2 that look the same. 2 inner and 2 outter.

All the different boxes opened have 3 identical pads with one that differs?

I would try another parts house.

Hmm, ill have to snap a pic of those pads. I double checked the pads that came off and obviously didn't notice that one was different just like i bought. Interesting huh. Now if i would have just noticed at the time, so i could put it back the same way...lol.

Even so, my air in the lines problem is'nt solved either. I will post new thread for that. Thanks guys.
