Default Questions concerning an upcoming road trip.

I'm more or less going to be going on a 1000 mile road trip here soon and I'm seeking some input on things that I should check or do to my XJ before I leave.
I intend to change my oil and coolant. Replace my valve cover gasket, clean my TB and IAC. Replace all my coolant hoses and modify my battery box to accept the larger battery I've got. And last but not least, get my exhaust leak fixed ,replace my motor mounts and if cash and time permits, my bushings too. I've already got her tires balanced and rotated and the new oil sending unit should be here today.
You folks think that I've got everthing there? Or do I need something else?
Info for my rig: 1998 XJ 4.0 I6 D30 hp front with a C8.25 rear and a NP 231 TC.
Thanks in advanced C.F. You ain't steered me wrong yet lol.

Sounds good.

A basic tune up should be fine.

I was debating on if I should do a tune up or not. But I think that it may be fine though since she got one last spring. Cap, rotory button ,plugs and wires.
I've done ALOT of work on her since I bought her two years ago and she's much happier now. Thanks CF! I've been able to work out several of her issues thanks to you fine folks.
Anyone else think of anything?

I doesn't work lol. Haven't been too concerned about it really. But I do have intentions to fix it once I run out of things that need more attention. May look into it though lol.

Just finished my annual 4,000 mile round trip to New Mexico and back. Bring lots of coffee, beef jerky, water, nut bars and a jug to pee in.

That's the best suggestion yet sir lol. Still trying to chase down my cylinder 6 misfire though. Didn't. even have this problem till I had a broken bolt on my exhaust manifold removed.
It was the last one near the firewall. I wonder if it's. somehow related......
The shop described it as a "nightmare job". The mechanic said that he destroyed four easy outs and even had it glowing cherry red at one point.
Any thoughts on that folks?
