Quote: hehe yeah..I am planning on doing some major work next month..saving my pennies now to buy front axle u-joints, wheel bearing/hub assembles (both wheels), drive shaft u-joints all around..Already have my ball joints..Then replace the bent tie rod( bent it back to usable shape for now)..Then the front end other then axles and steering knuckles should be all new..
You sound like me. I replace my both front hubs, upper and lower ball joints, tie rod ends, all the bushings, steering stabilzer, track bar and u-joints. It was that best thing.

only bushing I won't be replacing is the UCA ones..and that's just cause I am to lazy to deal with all that crap...surprising enough once you do a complete lift only bushings left are the sway bar bushing and UCA's..atleast with an RE 3.5...but eventually the UCA's will get replaced...

Well I have the front axle out already for the 4wd conversion so I was able to replace them.

It'll fit. I'm using a 01 xj shaft on almost 5" of lift back there.

Did you have to do any mods for it to fit or did it just bolt up? If it a direct bolt on I am gonna go snag me one next week and the JY..

good deal is there any particular model where they are longer then the others? Say one from a 231 or 242 case longer then the other or newer models longer then older models?

Called a JY and can get one for $30 and they have like a ton so based on the crown site I can go all the way to a 2000 model and it's the same length and u-joints..that is if I am reading it correctly..could replace both of mine with newer ones..

Yeah inspect the u-joints before using them. Mine were ok so i "rebuilt" them. Took the u-joints apart, all the needles out, cleaned caps and needles, reinstalled and regreased. They were like new afterwards and saved myself quite a few bucks. You can only do this IF the u-joint is still ok.

Yeah if I get em I am definitely replacing the u-jounts on em before installing them. That way I can make sure they are all in good condition before running em..
