I am tearing apart my bare-bones stock 99 XJ to see about adding a few features here and there with their accompanying wiring harnesses and I found a few stock anomalies I would like to share to see if anyone could reveal their function. I added comments below for each photo.
Unlike every other set of yellow and black wires for the door jam XIC push button, the passenger side, front, by the fuze block, has an extra wire--black with a blue stripe that is connected to a third pin in the middle of this plug. When I look into the female end, where the mystery third wire would attach, there is no female slot for the pin associated. What is the purpose of this wire?
This is located under the steering wheel. If I recall correctly, from when I parted out my 97 XJ, this wire has something to do with towing?
This is located on the driver's side, in the rear, near the cluster of plugs for the back hatch. I presume, given the same color wire, this is connected to the wire under the steering wheel.
This is located in the same spot as the other plug: you can see it behind my finger. This plug also has the same color wire as the previously mentioned one... It cannot be the auxiliary plug for the rear speakers, because that is on the passenger side, in the rear.
