so I just ordered new shocks for my Jeep from Amazon, & I usually never had problems with Amazon, but what do you think.
2 questions
do Monroe sensa-trac shocks always have their name on the shock? I received two so far, and one has Monroe on it, and one is just plain black. do you think its fake, or is this normal.
second, one of them has a very tiny dent in it. will this affect anything? should I use it or return it.

I like Monroe shocks but from my experience they have a lot of problems with quality control. The last couple sets I've purchased were damaged in some way and had to be returned. I did purchase them from Advance Auto and I wasn't sure if they were just returned and resold or if they came from Monroe this way. The decal missing isn't surprising as I've seen this as well.

The Monroes I got don't have any logo on them but they do have the part number stamped into the cylinder. I think most of the Monroes I've seen don't have the name on them so that is "normal". Maybe they switched at some point in time and one of the shocks is older stock than the other.

I used to buy this brand and was happy. Now, just garbage. Installed a set on my Dakota. They lasted 4, yes FOUR months. And all the oil leaked out. Replaced them with Monomax.
Just my experience. Disgusted with the auto parts supply chain these days. Good brands have been prostituted for dollars by lowering quality.
