Default Question about my lack of heat...

Before we get all ****, i have heat, but it just comes up by the windshield. No matter which setting I have it on, it does not blow through any other vents. It is my 1988 Cherokee Loredo. Just wondering if anybody has any ideas, because I don't know jack about heating and cooling.
Thanks in Advance

i hope this helps, if not sorry. this summer i had a little vacuum valve pop( its oln the passenger side close to the firewall.) i replace it with one off of a 93? any way it wasnt the same year my is (96) the replacement sticks sometimes so i have to either wait till i hit a good size bump, pot hole, armadillo or just pop the hood an push the arm on the valve to unstick the valve other wise i dont get any heat. its easy to check look at when cold an heater is off an when its hot an heater is turnned on. if the little arm is in the same place all the time its that little valve. ihope this helps, i usually replace parts till the prob is fixed so thats the kind of info yer getting.

No, he has heat. His problem is lack of vacuum. He has a leak somewhere in a hose or the vacuum ball behind the bumper on the right side.

I thought that vaccuum ball had to do with fuel. lol. I may have a crack in the line going to it. the PO took horrible care of it. So, should I then replace that line and ball thing? I mean, the heat worked well enought to melt a few inches of snow in like 20 minutes, but all the heat is just directed toward the windshield... so it would take a while to warm the jeep enough to heep my 11 month son warm, you know?

Vacuum ball can crack, but it's probably one of the hard plastic lines that run along the right inner fender, eventually entering the firewall on the passenger side.

The smallest hole or crack will cause this.

Thanks. I have been screwing around a lot with it while i put on my fabbed bumper, and just have it sitting in the bumper with a bar welded so it won't fall out. lol. I guess I will look up the mod to remove the ball and keep the vaccuum. If not, is this a PITA to put a new one in?
