Default AMP issue?

Iv been having some trouble with my amp/voltage? (excuse me for my ignorance i am still learning) It seems in the early mornings when i first start my jeep my amp/voltage gauge it in the "red" area a tiny big above 9. You can tell it is down due to dim in lights, slow wipers, and slowing blinking turn signals. This all come along with a loud squeak coming from the engine bay. As i begin to drive (sometimes, only sometimes) my amp gauge will rise to about 13/14 give or take and then drop back down when i apply the breaks to come to a stop. Im not sure what the issue is but i need to figure it out. I have checked my belt, it is tight but not "too" tight and there is no wear and tear of the belt, good shape. Any ideas would be great. I would consider maybe the cold is a factor but that is not the case, it will happen when its 18 degrees out and then again when its 50 degrees out (gotta love this winter in PA??!?) then i will have some days where my amp/voltage will be normal and stay where it should be.

A loud squeek from the engine bay sounds like either the belt slipping, or a bearing going bad. I'd tighten the belt more. If the belt slips, the alt won't deliver full power. Start the Jeep, turn on accessories, heater on high, bright lights etc. and see if it starts to squeek. The alternater is harder to spin when it has a full load on it. If tightening the belt doesn't fix it, remove the belt and spin all the pulleys by hand. See what you find out.

Yeah i have a brand you battery in there. Prob 3 weeks old. As far as the squeak goes, you only hear it when the AMP gauge is down around 9. like i said as soon as it gets going and the AMP starts to rise to "normal" the squeak goes away. im going to take it all apart here in the next few days. i shall check back in. thanks fellas
