So I love my XJ but I can't see spending crazy cash for a cold air intake and the Spectre Intake just looks blah. So I am just sitting here online brain storming about what I can do to build my own CAI.
I found some good ideas online but just wondering what have any of you tried to "route" the air? I plan to use the stock airbox and it has the opening to allow air end. This opening is right behind the left headlight but it seems it could be getting hot engine air instead of cooler air. Has anyone tried to hook a hose to draw the air from outside the engine bay? Know it sounds crazy.....like I said just brain storming.

 

Yes u can. Check out cowl snorkel mod here on the forum. I have done it myself, I just never took a picture.
