Question pvc grommet/valve

I have a 94 cherokee. and i'm trying to replace the pvc grommet and valves. Is there a certain way to get them out. I broke the valves getting them out, but i can't get the rubber grommets out.

hey man... x2 pliers and parts at dealer.... pick up brand new pcv grommets/tubing from dealer and replace all of the old crap, your engine will love it .... old parts could be brittle and break up, make sure little pieces don't fall inside the valve cover ... good luck
