Default Putting emblems back on...

Quick question...sorry if wrong forum. 96 XJ Sport....it has never been waxed so I am in the process on getting that taken care off. The emblems were in horrible shape so I pulled them off, painted them and they look great. Going to use 3M to reapply...my question is since they are off and I need to wax, should there be an issue in waxing and then putting the emblems back...they will of couse be applied to the freshly waxed paint. Should I have problems? Will there be problems with them sticking to waxed paint vs non waxed?
Since we are on that topic anyway, anyone have suggestions on best wax to use?

"they will of couse be applied to the freshly waxed paint."

I'll bet the emblems adhere to the wax & not the paint.

Clean the wax off before sticking them on sometimes we have a hard time getting new ones to stick to just fresh paint in the bodyshop.
