Okay, it's at the end of September and moving down to South Carolina
. Now on my Jeep GC 2005 it has a pull/tow button on the panel. Was told by dealer that anytime I'm pulling something with the jeep that I should push this button so that the jeep can't get into overdrive. I'm thinking that pulling means anything over 5,000 lbs. I'm going to be pulling a trailer with about 1,500lbs on it. Should I push this button to keep it from going into overdrive, or just watch the temp? Thanks.

With a small utility trailer you'll be fine w/o pushing the button... You're not going to hurt anything either way.
By SC... do you mean South Carolina or SoCal?

I'm from western nc and some of the highway driving can be hilly. I would push the button when u have to go up and down the mountains also if you notice the jeep shifting in and out of overdrive
