Just my 2 cents.... I replaced mine, and failed to listen to advice and bought the regular 3M spray, not the heavy duty stuff.... it failed within 6 months. I will be redoing it, and this time I will spend the extra money and get the good spray glue. I will say, it was easier than I thought, and when it was done it looked like it just rolled of the factory floor, just didn't last due to my laziness.... whatever you decide, good luck brother!

Hey there. Oh, I happened to notice the other day, on my 90 there is a short section there beside the hood hinge that seems to depend on putty to keep water from running down onto the floor. Something you might check.
I held my headliner fabric to the foam for a while with 1/4 in staples and thumb tacks! Actually sort of worked, (and made "diamond tuck" pattern)
If I had it all to do over, I might cut away the dangling fabric, and just paint the foam, or just leave it like that until I found a nice replacement at the JY. (you DO get lucky sometimes!) (not to disagree that it can be repaired.)
Anyway I ended up wrecking it taking it out and don't miss it. We only get some weeks of broiling weather here.....guess I should keep my foil hat handy!

And thanks guys for all of the feedback.

Well, so here's the MY deal. I was having water back around the rear carpet. I thought it might be the hatch gasket, changed that. (afore mentioned "lucky JY find), still wet. So i figured it was maybe the rack mounts leaking down inside the frame. Wasn't that. Water leaking there CAN though find it's way in. It turned out cracks at the top, near the hinges were letting water in.
Not really your deal, but the "gutter" above seems to feed it there well.
BTW!! It was AFTER I pulled the whole headliner business, that I saw the skylight from some nail holes from lumber. The point on THAT,,....the rack mounts themselves are pretty hardy. They weren't the problem. Me just not looking well enough for nail holes was the problem! (there...just wetness on the headliner was a small issue)
Water running in those cracks, keeping my carpet wet, sucked! (the bottom af a metal tool box, doesn't vent well)

i've removed my headliner to prep for a soft top and while i don't recommend touching it in the summer i haven't really noticed a difference in general temp. i run with a/c and with out and with out doors. i have on the other hand noticed a noise difference. it's a little louder than with the headliner but it's not enough to bother me that much.
i made the mistake of touching the roof when it was 108 F outside, 115 heat index and burnt the crap outta my arm. i was hiding wires and my armed touched it, after that i got out my T.I.C. and the inside of the roof was 196 F. it burnt the hair off my arm. so im sure its putting off enough radiant heat to notice but im use to hot weather and temps of 145 F inside my gear, so i wouldn't notice like others.
im just saying i wouldn't do it to a DD if you get alot of hot weather but thats my opinion. and opinions are like *******s, everybody's got one. lol
the floor on the other hand i know nothing about but i presume it would be about the same just not as bad. but then again, you've got exhaust down there.
i painted my headliner, i'll get pics tomorrow. i removed all the old foam and fabric and sanded the fiberglass board down clean, blowed it off with compressed air and painted it grey. it took 7 cans of spray paint because the fiberglass just soaks it up.
anywho, good luck man.
