PROUD New Jeep XJ owner QUESTIONS
Okay so I shopped around for about 6 months to find this one. Its a 98 Jeep Limited with 233K. Its got 3, 4WD options. I liked that about it. I spent 2k, Do you think I got a good deal?
No rust and started up right now. Been driving it since. I have to get a lift on it as soon as possible though. I feel like a soccer mom.
So my rear leafs are flat. What will the ZONE, aal, 3" lift do for that?
Will there be other things I have to buy?
How will my handling be?
I would the 4.5" Zone lift too, but wont I have too buy more stuff than they give me?
So many questions? Damn.

That's not a bad deal. Although the miles are quite high, as long as the motor has been taken care of, it's got plenty of life left.
As far as the lift, 3" is a perfect start. Once you get up to 4.5", most people with 97+ need an SYE with a new driveshaft. If your leafs are flat, DO NOT get an AAL. Most people will say don't get one at all, and i agree, but DEFINITLEY not if they're flat. Get full leaf packs. For starters, i'd definitely stick with the 3" lift.

PS The Zone 4 1/2 is just the 3 inch lift with pucks in the front and shackles in the rear.
PPS, Welcome to CF

Thats too funny.
Steel',
I was admiring your Jeep and Acura about an hour ago. That color is rare. Its the color I wanted. My Nissan Altima is the same color, or close.
But anyway. When you said dont do it at all. What did you mean? Dont lift it?

Well thank you, i appreciate that. Yea, i love the Steel Blue!
No, i just said don't do the AAL. Lift it, just get the full leaf packs. Especially if your leafs are already sagging.

Okay, I totally agree. I am concerned though because it doesnt appear that you get everything you need with the 3" kit. Stab links, brakeline adaptors, and so on...(I couldnt tell you what else "isnt" there.)
I wish there was a 3" inch kit I could buy around 3-500.00 with everything I need. Do you know of one?

you can get a Roughcountry 3" lift with every thing you need, as well as full leafs and control arms, for around $600.
