That's what I'm saying...I think he does it to me on purpose because he knows I'm looking for one.... it'd be hard for me to explain to the wife driving to Arizona to pick up another jeep....I'd return home divorced lol

1999 factory plugs are Champion RC12ECC. Says that right on the sticker in the engine bay.

Chrysler superceded them with NGK ZFR5N universally in coil-on-plug 4.0Ls citing reliability issues with the Champions.

Both can be considered the OE spark plug for this model year. LYC plugs were shipped on earlier XJs.

I just bought plugs for the stroker. Went with Champion coppers. I've had good success with them. I have also run NGK's. They are both good plugs, but I'm a little **** with my service intervals, so I replace with new each time. It's cheap enough, so one or the other and you'll do fine. The important thing here is our engines like the copper cores.

Does FRAM make a spark plug? I'll run it, honey badger style.

Yep.

Never had an NGK fail on me.

Bosch, yes. Champion, yes.

Did a dyno test on my 260Z at the local college and swapped plugs between runs, it was a plug test, and lost 28 RWHP.

Maybe this will help him understand why engineers dont always get it right...but do at the same time.
Bean counters control the engineers' purse strings.

Not trying to continue the spark plug debate, but I googled and checked Amazon for these and nothing specific comes up. I just wanted to read up on these as I will be doing a tune up in the spring.

FWIW, I experimented between Autolite and Champion in my 2000 and the engine idles noticeably more smoothly with the Champions. Both copper core. Worth the experiment for $14.50 for the whole set of six. The entire set costs less than a single plug in my MB that takes 16 plugs at 2/cylinder...

It's not continuing a debate don't worry. Here the link. Link I misses the R when I typed it originally.
Amazon.com: NGK (3459) ZFR5N V-Power Spark Plug, Pack of 1: Automotive Amazon.com: NGK (3459) ZFR5N V-Power Spark Plug, Pack of 1: Automotive

I've ran this twice now in my 01 and I've had no issue. But since I'm no engineer that's just experiences on MY jeep.

Different spark plugs do make a difference even amongst copper. All depends what kind of material their ground is and how much copper is actually in there. That's just like store brand cereal and name brand. Both need to meet FDA criteria however one uses less grains or makes it slightly less batter or cooks it less etc.
