problems with gas

i have a 1990 cherokee limited with the 4.0l and im pretty sure my gauge is just but basically i run out of gas at the 1/4 tank line which is no big deal because like i said i think its just my gauge being off but however when my gauge is at 1/2 ( what i beilive is technically 1/4 tank for me) if i corner right hard my engine will starve of gas and it will start to die then coming out of the corner completely it will come back to life but only turning right is this just the gas moving to far away from the fuel pump or do i have something wrong?

so you suggest taking out the fuel pump and adjusting?

STOP TURNING RIGHT! Turbo might have a point...Idk how to get it wrong. I've been into my 90 a few times. IIRC you turn and seat the pump/sender assembly, then get the ring on. I don't remember what "indexes" it.

Maybe I (or someone) can find a pic or diagram of where it ends up.
