problem: Low oil preasure..

Default problem: Low oil preasure..

ok guys from time to time the oil gauge goes so low that the "check gauges" ligth comes on.. but as soon as i hit gas the preasure goes back up...


any idea guys?

welcome to the club...drive it! As long as it comes up when you come above idle I would not be too concerned. Mine has had same symptoms for a long time (verified with mechanical gauge at 4psi at 650 rpm). Change filter and verify actual pressure...if low there is not much you can do anyway unless rebuild. If it ain't knocking just keep rocking!!

^^ Good advice. The minimum spec is 13 PSI. Change filter and verify with a mechanical gauge. If you're using anything like the FRAM Orange Can Of Death get that off of there... same goes for any similar re-branded filter that typically sells around the $3 mark (quick-lube type places and low-end store brand). The oil pressure sender is a common failure.

i use napa GOLD only...

Here's something interesting. If you shine a light into the oil filler hole, is it sludgy in there?
