I have a 1997 Cherokee Sport. It starts and runs fine. It will idle until it runs out of gas but when I put it in gear it sputters and dies. Its worse in reverse. Have good pressure at the rail. I have changed the MAP sensor. The CAT was bad(rattling and such) so that has been replaced. Was thinking O2 sensors next. Any ideas?

 

Sounds like the bank 1 o2 sensor
I had the same symptoms replaced the sensor right down from the manifold.. And all went fine, ran me about 60 bucks and 5 minutes of time. Hope this helps
