Hello Guyz ,
Am facing an issue with my XJ 94 manual ..
After I installed 3" lift kit about 2 weeks from tht day , while driving and climbing the dunes , I switch the 4H on and while climbing , sometimes it feels like it disengage the 4H .. And makes a jamming loud noise from where the bottom more specifically near or front shaft/ gear ,
Then I will switch back to 2H move the car back and forward just abit ,
And then engage the 4H and drive normally , it's just whenever am climbing the dunes and going fast on a rough terrain , it disengage ,
Any explanation ?

 

If it is popping out I would start by checking the linkage adjustment on the t-case. Here's a link that Cruiser posted with a video. Hope it helps. Give it a check and let use know if it's the problem or not.

As Robert mentioned, the shift mechanism likely needs adjustment.
In addition, motor mounts/transmission mount could be bad since it is popping out in rough terrain.
