So we've all heard of the ZJ 5.2L alternator swap, & after seeing a post on bc4x4.com on the swap I went & got it from the JY... After tearing mine out I found its no where near the same! So back to the drawing board, after more searching with no luck here I am...

Any one know of a upgraded swap for the PRE '91 4.0 XJ alternator?

I'm not too sure but I think the ZJ swap works with the 91 motor and up.

Ya like I said I followed this mod, but a PRE '91 4.0L's don't have the same alt!

Anyone know of a alternator that puts out more than 100 amps I can swap into my 1989???

Is there any place to have your alternater rebuilt I had my extra one rebuilt and he beefed up the amps it putts out I now have a 175 amp roughly alternater.

 

Ya I gues that's what I'll have to look into! how much did it cost ya?
